Fasting insulin repeatedly coming back at 3-4 is great. Just as low homocysteine is. Are you’d skeptic about the results due to the modest excess weight you carry? I’m sure you are aware that weight and metabolic health doesn’t have a linear relationship.

I’m 60 years of age, female, fairly low carb for the past 8 years, maximum 50g net carbs per day. I think I’m insulin sensitive. Overweight, but not obese. I find fasting pretty difficult and I find it hard to lose weight. I’ve had my fasting insulin measured a few times in the past 8 years, always around 3 or 4, I had a random insulin a few years ago, result was 7. Recently I got my fasting insulin and homocysteine done in a local hospital, it was my first time having homocystine measured. Both results were very low, insulin was 1.6 mIU/L and and homocystine was 2.4 umol /L. I spoke to the lab at length , I know that both of these samples have to be handled in very specific ways, kept cold and so on, the lab was adamant that the samples were processed correctly and they stand over these results. Do you have any thoughts on these? If these results are correct, what are the explanations/implications? The lab agreed to repeat them at no cost, but when I turned up for the re-test, they reneged and said I would have to pay for them again, I didn’t do that. Too expensive. Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.
