Hey Christine yep technically 100-150g of spuds or rice etc. for several days previously, to avoid getting a Pattern 5 hypoinsulin type result (this indicates Type 1 Diabetes usually, false signal in low carber however. Also this will avoid a false high glucose curve being seen….!

Submitting this question again, first submitted after replay of 4th April session. Re-doing a random insulin test, two hours after a known measure of glucose to approximate a GTT, if a person is low carb for a number of years, would it be advisable or not to ‘carb up’ for a few days before getting the insulin test? I’m low carb for several years, I’ve had my fasting insulin done a few times, always low, never had a non-fasting insulin measured but I plan to now. Thanks.
